Koperek Goal Gives Drury Girls Tie Against Monument
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Drury girls soccer team earned its first point today against Monument Mountain in a 1-1 tie.
Monument opened the scoring in the first half off a goal from Zufan Bazzano.
Drury came out strong in the second half looking to put one on net. Its goal came off a direct kick when Celene Koperek received the ball and got a shot off to tie the game.
“We have showed a lot of improvement,” Drury coach Maryjane Rumbolt said. “Going forward I want to keep seeing those improvements.”
Drury’s Alli Brassard was in net and tallied 13 saves.
Drury will host Taconic next Tuesday.
