Drury Girls Top Taconic on Senior Day

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Senior Madison Saunders scored a pair of goals on Wednesday as the Drury girls soccer team shut out Taconic, 6-0 on Senior Day for the Blue Devils.
 
Seniors Jacinta Felix, Isabella Moore, Lindsay Robare and Regan Walker also scored a goal apiece in the win.
 
Drury coach Sy Uqdah congratulated the seniors from both the Thunder and Blue Devils for their performances.
 
“All nine of our seniors got the start for the game against Taconic,” Uqdah said. “Drury came firing out of the gates and Madie (Saunders) scored to give us the 1-0 lead in the first 30 seconds of the game. We continued with a successful offensive performance in the first half which resulted in a 6-0 lead by half time.”
 
Addie Shepard earned the shutout win in goal.
 
Drury (5-7-2), which has won three of its last four games, finishes the regular season on Monday at Wahconah.
 
Taconic (1-13-1) awaits its opponent in the consolation phase of the Western Mass tournament.
