SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Megan McGrath scored twice, and Hailey Kingsley scored a goal and assisted on another on Monday as the Drury girls soccer team defeated Mount Everett, 3-1.

Kingsley scored the game’s first goal unassisted.

“A bad read on a ball in the first half led to Drury's first goal,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “I was proud of how we responded as a group and kept applying pressure throughout the game. We were able to capitalize on a corner kick from Emily [Steuernagle] to Allison [Steuernagle], which put us deadlocked at 1-1.”

In the second half, Lindsay Robare set up Megan McGrath to give the Blue Devils a 2-1 lead. McGrath then tacked on an insurance goal.

"Our second goal was set-up by Lindsay Robare, who crossed the ball into the box and Megan McGrath put it left low corner past the keeper," Drury coach Sy Uqdah said. "Then we scored a goal with a beautiful lead up play started by Melanie Moresi with a throw in to Hailey Kingsley, who took it up the left sideline past two defenders and slotted a beautiful pass back that Megan could run onto and place in the back of the net."

Brooke Bishop earned the win in goal with 13 saves for Drury (5-7-1), which takes a three-game winning streak into Wednesday’s game at Hoosac Valley.

Mount Everett finishes the regular season at 8-5-3.

“We've got some time off before Western Mass and States starts so this will give us a chance to recuperate and get healthy heading into the post-season,” King said. “Always proud of how my kids play and conduct themselves on the field.”
