Lee, Mount Everett Girls Tie, 1-1

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- The Mount Everett and Lee girls soccer teams played to a 1-1 tie on Wednesday as each team’s keeper stepped up big.

 

Emma Goewey made 10 saves for the Eagles, and Bella Lovato stopped eight shots for the Wildcats.

 

Lovato could not get her hands on Madeline Von Ruden’s shot off a corner kick with 14 minutes, 13 seconds left in the first half.

 

It stayed 1-0, Eagles, until the 34th minute, when Lee earned a penalty kick, and Caroline Maloney converted for the equalizer.

 

Lee (1-0-1) hosts Greenfield on Tuesday.

 

Mount Everett (0-2-1) hosts Bedford on Saturday.
