LENOX, Mass. -- Brady Foehl and Toby Foehl each scored a pair of goals Tuesday to lead the Mount Greylock boys soccer team to a 5-0 win over Lenox in the regular-season finale for both sides.

Sam Dils had a goal and two assists, and David Falk made four saves to earn the shutout in goal as the Mounties (10-4-2) tuned up for the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament with their third straight win.

"Winning on the road in the North, especially on Senior Night, is never easy,” Mount Greylock coach Blair Dils said. “I don't think anyone was expecting the outcome tonight. It was a much closer than the 5-0 scoreline. We buried our chances early and put the game out of reach in the second half."

"It was a complete team effort to get the shutout. The boys were organized and David [Falk] did well to snuff out a lot of through balls. We played well tonight and hope to take that momentum into the post-season."

Matt Tibbetts stopped four shots for the Millionaires (10-5-3), who previously had qualified in D4.

“We were hoping to roll into the tournament with a positive result against Greylock, a clear D3 contender for a Western Mass championship this year,” Lenox coach Matt Cote said. “While you may have to squint to see it, this result can be good for us. It gives us something to chew on during this long week of practice, and it reminds us that nothing comes easy.

“If we are to achieve our goal of a Western Mass championship ourselves, we need to find a way to beat tough teams like Greylock, by staying positive, sticking to our game plan, and trusting each other.”

The Western Mass tournament seeds and pairings are released on Wednesday.
