LENOX, Mass. -- Luke Peplowski scored 55 minutes into the game to break a 2-2 tie and send the Pittsfield boys soccer team to a 3-2 win over Lenox on Tuesday evening.

The host Millionaires built a 2-0 lead on goals by Nic Baruch and Zi Santos.

Santos' goal, on an assist from Baruch, was followed 30 seconds later by a goal from Pittsfield's Kevin Amenlemah.

Five minutes later, Carter Matthews converted a penalty kick to tie it for the the Generals.

Amenlemah then set up Peplowski for the game-winner, giving Pittsfield three goals in a span of nine minutes.

"I felt that for the remaining 25 minutes of the game, we did not do a great job of managing our emotions, letting the energy of the crowd take over, and I thought we resorted to some sloppy play, often choosing early long balls over possession soccer," Lenox coach Matt Cote said. "PHS deserves a lot of credit for coming ready to play and not letting a 2-0 deficit defeat them.

"I feel that one of our biggest challenges this year will be to do just that -- overcome adversity and play good soccer, no matter the score.  I think this loss can be good for us.  We will watch the film, and we will learn some valuable lessons from this."

Lenox (4-1-1) hosts Monument Mountain on Monday.

Pittsfield (2-3) hosts Wahconah on Saturday afternoon.
