Cardoso Scores Pair as Pittsfield Tops Lenox
LENOX, Mass. – Kyle Cardoso scored twice and set up a pair of goals Tuesday to lead the Pittsfield boys soccer team to a 7-0 win over Lenox.
Jeremy Adjei scored and set up a pair of goals for the Generals, who led, 5-0, at half-time.
Adjei scored the first goal with an assist from Cardoso for the game’s goal.
“Both teams came out to battle hard for the first game of the season,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “Pittsifeld captains Kyle Cardoso, Gustavo De Oliveria, Matt Burega and Drake Thompson had the boys ready to go to start the game.
“The Pittsfield Generals came out attacking in the first five minutes of the game and were able to score early, which set the pace for the rest of the game.”
Owen Klatka, Bashiru Sowe, De Oliveria and Aidan D’Aniello each scored a goal for Pittsfield, which got one save in a shutout from Reese Cook-Dubin.
Jason Sibley made eight saves for Lenox (0-1), which hosts Mahar on Friday.
