PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Longmeadow boys soccer team erased a one-goal deficit Wednesday to earn a 2-1 win over Pittsfield at Kirvin Park.

“Both Longmeadow goals came from outside the 18 when we had a brief lapse and didn’t contest those shots,” Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil said. “Both teams escaped a few other very close chances. Overall, it's never fun to lose, but this was a great effort to build off of right before the postseason.”

Carter Matthews got the Generals (8-6-3) on the board in the eighth minute with an assist from Seyvon Kouao.

“Seyvon and Carter connected very well to get in behind their defensive line and get our goal,” Antil said.

Will Echeverria scored the equalizer in the 37th minute, and Spencer Robbins had the game-winner midway through the second half.

Pittsfield goes to Monument Mountain on Monday.
