WACHUSETT, Mass. -- After going to half-time tied, 1-1, the Pittsfield boys soccer team gave up four goals in the second half of a 5-3 loss at Wachusett on Saturday.

“We faced a quality team today and for the most part the boys rose to the occasion,” Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil said. “One highly questionable pk call and a couple other mental lapses were the difference between a win and a loss. We contained them well and forced a lot of mistakes.

“We certainly had a few minutes of disarray and we are by no means happy to give up five goals, but our level of competitiveness improved since last game against Greylock. We are still not where we need to be, but continue to improve with every game.”

Mehki Romero, Hedi Abderrahim and Carter Matthews scored for the Generals (1-3).

Pittsfield goes to Lenox on Wednesday.
