PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Sam Dils scored twice in the last 14 minutes of the game on Friday as Mount Greylock’s boys soccer team rallied from a 3-0 deficit to earn a 3-3 tie against Pittsfield at Kirvin Park.

Naka O’Connor started the Mounties’ comeback with an unassisted goal in the 64th minute.

Moments later, Quinn Johnstadt set up Dils to get Mount Greylock within one. Dils converted a Brady Foehl assist to give the Mounties their third goal in five minutes.

“Heading into the 60th minute the tempo of the game started to slow down and with a couple quick passes they got one back and started to gain momentum,” Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil said. “We collapsed for the next five minutes, and next thing we knew it was tied up. We found our bearings for the last 10 minutes and had several opportunities but couldn't convert.”

Pittsfield got a pair of goals from Evan Dempsey and a goal from Jackson Rich to build a 3-0 lead early in the second half.

Sam Edge stopped six shots for Mount Greylock.

Jon Bile had four saves for the Generals (7-1-4), who go to Lenox on Monday.

“What we take away from this is that we know we belong up with the best teams and have the tools to make a run at Western Mass and states,” Antil said. “Today we saw what happens when we lose focus for five minutes at the top level, and hopefully we can stay learn to stay sharp for 80 full minutes even when we have a comfortable lead.”

Mount Greylock (6-4-2) goes to Monument Mountain on Monday.
