PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Minnechaug boys soccer team Sunday built a 5-1 lead at half-time en route to an 8-5 win over Pittsfield at Kirvin Park.

"Too many gaps defensively and we’re making things too easy for Minnechaug the entire first half," Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. "We were still able to create a few chances of our own in the first half including a missed penalty. We have to get back to our style of play in the beginning of the season, with grinding out tough victories."

Gustavo De Oliveira had a hat trick for the Generals, who also got goals from Kyle Cardoso and Owen Klatka.

Pittsfield finishes the regular season at 9-4-3 and awaits word of who it will face in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.
