WESTFIELD, Mass. – Kyle Cardoso had a hat trick Wednesday to lead the Pittsfield boys soccer team to a 6-1 win over Westfield.

Owen Klatka and Gustavo De Oliveira each had a goal and two assists, and Drake Thompson had a goal and assist for the Generals, who trailed, 1-0, after what coach Ryan Wanek called a “terrible half of soccer” for his side.

“Second half is where our leadership showed, our captains stepped up and brought the energy in the second half,” Wanek said. “We were able to put four past the Westfield keeper in the first 15 minutes of the second half, and were able to cruise after that. Exceptionally proud of the team today with their response and attitude in the second half.”

Connor Devine made three saves to earn the win in goal.

Pittsfield (8-2-2) goes to Hampshire Regional on Friday.
