WILBRAHAM, Mass. – Owen Klatka and Gustavo De Oliveira each had a goal and an assist on Wednesday to lead the Pittsfield boys soccer team to a 2-0 win over Minnechaug.

De Oliveira broke a scoreless tie in the 60th minute with an assist from Klatka.

De Oliveira then returned the favor, setting up Klatka’s goal with three minutes left to play.

Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said it was a physical battle from start to finish.

“Minnechaug controlled most of the ball throughout the game with long balls over the top,” Wanek said. “Pittsfield was able to expose them on the counter on numerous occasions, being able to capitalize on two of them. Pittsfield knew the game they were walking into, and were able to execute their game plan.”

The Generals (6-1-2) host Monument Mountain on Friday at BCC.
