Monument Mountain Boys Roll into Western Mass Quarters

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Nate Lacombe and Noel Powell each scored a pair of goals Friday to lead the Monument Mountain boys soccer team to a 7-1 win over Franklin Tech in the first round of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.

 

Powell added two assists in the win. Wilson Sprague, Will Casarasa and Ben Higa each scored a goal for the Spartans, who took a 3-1 lead into half-time.

 

Eddie Boyko and Rhys Curtis combined to make four saves to earn the win in goal.

 

The third-seeded Spartans (12-5-1) host No. 6 Mount Greylock (9-6-2) next week in the sectional quarter-finals.
