LENOX, Mass. -- Andre Collins scored a goal and assisted on another to help the Lenox boys soccer team erase a 1-0 deficit and earn a 3-3 tie against Wahconah on Thursday night.

Kevin Huban had a hat trick for Wahconah (0-1-1), which got eight saves from Kyle Brogan.

“Wahconah is a stronger team than last year, with plenty of speed, size, and ability,” Lenox coach Matt Cote said. “Lots of skillful young guys and a very solid keeper.

“My Lenox boys looked fantastic, in my opinion, playing good, hard, clean soccer, sharing the ball well, and there was a ton of positive energy. We showed great poise after going down early, and I thought for sure we would come out on top. Credit to Wahconah for not crumbling, either.”

Lenox tied the game on a Cooper Shepardson goal and eventually took a 3-2 lead when Collins scored midway through the period.

But with about 10 minutes left, Huban completed his hat trick to earn the stalemate.

“Andre Collins and Zach Sufish (one goal) are starting to play off each other well up top, and Tristan Collins and Herkus Rudzinskas are stalwarts in the back,” Cote said. “I expect many more excellent games just like this one this year. We are off to a really great start, and I couldn't be more pleased.”

Lenox (1-0-1) goes to Pope Francis on Thursday.

Wahconah goes to West Springfield on Saturday.
