Donahue, Abel Connect to Lift Taconic Boys

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Ryan Abel headed in a Nick Donahue free kick in the 73rd minute Wednesday to give the Taconic boys soccer team a 1-0 win over Putnam.

 

Donahue teed up the ball from 50 yards away and sent a perfect feed into the box for Abel, who registered his four goal of the year.

 

Cody Latimer made seven saves to earn his second shutout of the year.

 

Taconic (2-4) hosts Lenox on Friday.
