Taconic Boys Edge Wahconah

DALTON, Mass. – Andres Toapanta assisted on both goals Saturday as the Taconic boys soccer team beat Wahconah, 2-1.

 

Frederick Yankey and Jeremiah Cudjoe were on the receiving end of those goals for the Thunder, which broke a 1-1 tie in the first half after Wahconah scored on a direct free kick and held off the hosts in the second half.

 

“Keeping Taconic ahead was a strong defense led by captain Drew Gresser, Fabian Aurelio, and Kevin Bravo and goalie Jeremiah Asenso,” Taconic coach Jason Keller said. “He is a big goalie that really makes it hard for opponents to score.”

 

Taconic (10-7-1) finishes the regular season at home against Easthampton on Tuesday.

 

Wahconah (10-7) is at Easthampton on Monday.
