Drury Boys Top Pioneer Valley Christian

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Steven Cornell scored one goal and assisted on another Friday as the Drury High boys soccer team beat Pioneer Valley Christian, 3-1, for the Blue Devils’ first win of the season.

 

Zach Davignon got the scoring started with a goal in the seventh minute with an assist from Aaron Davio.

 

It stayed 1-0 until early in the second half, when Cornell set up Dom Duteau for Drury’s second goal in the 42nd minute.

 

Cornell then converted an assist from John Moore midway through the half to make it a three-goal margin.

 

Parker Rivard made one save in Drury’s goal but lost his shutout bid when Pioneer Valley Christian’s Caden Garvey scored in the 79th minute.

 

Drury (1-1) goes to Westfield Tech on Monday.
