Drury Boys Fall to Pathfinder in Semi-Finals
PALMER, Mass. – Evan Costa and Adonis Dupre each had a hat trick Tuesday to lead the Pathfinder boys soccer team to a 9-1 win over Drury in the Western Massachusetts Class C semi-finals.
“Soccer is a funny game,” Drury coach John Jacobbe said. “We played tremendous team defense to beat Lenox on Saturday, but today, unfortunately, we gave up an early goal and broke down early, falling behind, 3-0.
“Pathfinder capitalized on our mistakes and led to the lopsided score. Although the score was one sided, I feel it would have been an interesting game if we could have held them off early but for now you have to tip your hat to Pathfinder.”
Matt Howland scored a goal for Drury to prevent the shutout.
Colin Daly, Parker Rivard and Jack George split time in goal, combining for 14 saves.
Drury seniors Daly, Logan Rogers, Sam Moorman and Kaleb DeCarolis each played his last game in a Blue Devils uniform.
