PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pittsfield Senior Brayden Bunnell was one of three seniors to score in a special Senior Day game, as the Generals blew out visiting Ludlow, 56-6, on Friday at Berkshire Community College.

The win secured the Suburban North League Championship for Pittsfield and kept alive its hopes for a berth in the Division 5 State Tournament when the 16 seeds are announced on Monday morning.

Bunnell was the leading scorer for the game, crossing the goal line three times for the Generals.

Seniors Keanu Arce-Jackson and Francis Mensah each scored two touchdowns. Pittsfield Freshman Freddy Conyers scored one.

Mensah was the first player to score a touchdown just 20 seconds into the first quarter. Arce-Jackson scored next, bringing the score to 16-0 with just over five minutes left in the quarter. Bunnell was the next player for the Generals to score with a 65-yard return after a pass from Arce-Jackson.

The score was 24-0 at the end of the first, but an interception from Arce-Jackson with 21 seconds left gave the Generals the ball back going into the second quarter. Conyers, the only non-senior to score, scored on this drive, bringing the lead to 32 points in the second after a successful two-point conversion.

Bunnell's second touchdown of the game came soon after, with just four-and-a-half minutes left in the quarter. He scored one more before the quarter's end, pushing the score to 48-0 headed into halftime.

With 7:20 left in the third, Mensah scored his second touchdown of the game, and the final touchdown for Pittsfield.

Neither team scored for the remainder of the quarter. After several opportunities to score within 15-yards of the goal line, Ludlow got  its first and only touchdown of the game with just 10 seconds left. As time had already expired, Ludlow did not go for an extra point.

Prior to kickoff, the Generals honored the team's 11 members of the Class of 2023, with cheers and celebration with each player's family and friends. Those honored include Girey Rivera, Georgios Zamakis, Keanu Arce-Jackson, Jayshawn Warren, Alicia Houle, Edgar Vergara, Nashaun Frazier, Dakarre Dorsett, Francis Mensah, Brayden Bunnell, James DiFillippo and Girey Rivera.

With the win, Pittsfield's record climbs to 5-3 overall and 5-0 in the Suburban North.
