Wahconah Stops St. Joe In Season Opener
PITTSFIELD, Mass — Junior running back Eli Pease had big opening game for Wahconah as he rushed 25 times for 109 yards and a touchdown to help his Warriors beat St. Joe's 14-6 on Sunday night at Wahconah Park. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday night but was pushed back to Sunday because of heavy rains that hit the area.The Warriors played well on defense and limited St. Joe's talented running back tandem of Tank Roberson and Lavante Wiggins to just 89 yards of rushing combined. St. Joe's quarterback Jon Bianchi accounted for his teams only score with a 2-yard run.
Wahconah will host Pittsfield in its home opener on Friday night. St. Joe's will travel north to Adams to face Hoosac Valley on Saturday at 1: 30 p.m.
