Berkshire County Football Officials to Work Wednesday Title Game at Gillette

A contingent of Berkshire County football officials will help kick off high school championship week at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday evening.

 

Berkshire County Football Officials Association secretary and treasurer Jeff Meehan will wear the white hat and be joined by seven of his county colleagues when top-seeded West Boylston faces No. 2 Carver in the Division 8 State Chamiponship game at 5:30 p.m. in Foxborough.

 

Meehan will be joined by umpire Michael Emerson, line judge Marc Field, head linesman George Beckwith, field judge Matt Conant, side judge Reggie Leonard, back judge Matthew Emerson and clock operator Aaron Kipp for the state title game.

 

Wednesday's double-header, with the D1 championship game scheduled for 8 p.m., is the start of three straight days of football finals at Gillette.

 

On Friday, the Division 6 game kicks off at 3, followed by the D2 and D3 finales. On Saturday at 3, the Division 7 title game gets things started with finals scheduled in D4 and D5 to follow.

Another Berkshire County crew (seen above) was selected to work one of 16 state semi-finals a couple of weeks ago.

 

Referee Dave Pause was joined by umpire Michael Lyon, line judge Chuck Poulton, head linesman Mark Pompi, field judge Gary Pemble, side judge John Ciliberti, back judge Dave Jordan and clock operator Gary Dow in the Final Four contest.
