McCann Tech Opens With Road Win
PALMER, Mass. -- Nick Lincoln ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as the McCann Tech football team beat Palmer, 28-7, in Friday's opener.
The Hornets (1-0) started the game with a pair of touchdowns just 10 seconds apart.
First, Lincoln scored on a 19-yard run. Dakota Bolte tacked on the conversion to make it 8-0.
Then, on the ensuing kickoff, Palmer fumbled the ball, and Adam Dufur scooped it and went 45 yards to make it 14-0.
It was 20-0 early in the second quarter after Lincoln completed a 23-yard scoring pass to Dufur.
Palmer's Ryan McCarthy sprinted 80 yards to get the hosts on the board before half-time, but McCann put the game away with a 5-yard Lincoln run midway through the fourth quarter.
Lincoln finished with 112 yards rushing on 10 carries, and he completed 5 of 9 passes for 90 yards -- all to Dufur. In addition to his 2-point conversion, Bolte had an interception.
McCann is home next Saturday against Pioneer.
