Elizabeth A. "Lizz" Maynard-Gaskill

Elizabeth A. "Lizz" Maynard-Gaskill, 43, of Hancock Road died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after being stricken at her residence. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 29, 1961, daughter of Ann L. Wilson Maynard of Hancock and the late John F. Maynard, she was a 1979 graduate of New Lebanon (N.Y.) Central High School. She also graduated from McCann Technical School in North Adams in 1980 and from North Adams State College in 1985. A homemaker, Mrs. Maynard-Gaskill had worked as a consultant/reporter for the Transcript newspaper, and had also worked at Berkshire Life Insurance for 10 years in corporate communications. She was also an assistant to the pastor of the First Congregational Church of Williamstown. She was a member of the Hancock Baptist Church. She volunteered at the Hancock Central School Library, where she was a trustee, and was a member of the Hancock Planning Board. She and her husband, Mark A. Gaskill, were married April 6, 1996, at the Stephentown (N.Y.) Federated Church. Besides her husband, and mother, she leaves a daughter, Madeline E. Gaskill of Hancock, and two sisters, Heather McGowan of Harwich and Ann Marie Maynard-Snow of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Elizabeth Maynard-Gaskill will be Sunday, June 19, at 11 a.m. in the Hancock Baptist Church where the Rev. Dan Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow in Hancock Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow the interment at the Fellowship Hall of the Hancock Baptist Church. Relatives and friends are invited to the HALL & HIGGINS FUNERAL HOME, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, N.Y., on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. for visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Educational Fund for Madeline E. Gaskill or the Hancock Baptist Church in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 9, Stephentown, NY 12168.
