Christina C. Moran, 97

ADAMS, Mass. —
Mrs. Christina C. (Cardillo) Moran, 97, of Adams, died Thursday afternoon, April 10, 2025 at North Adams Commons. She was born in North Adams on June 16, 1927, a daughter of the late A. Anthony and Anna (Cicchetti) Cardillo. She attended North Adams schools, graduating from Drury High School. She then graduated with honors from the New England Conservatory of Music.
Following her graduation, she continued her studies in Italy and New York as well as at the Tanglewood Music Center. Christina had won the Metropolitan Opera Audition of the Year twice in the 1950's. She sang professionally in the United States, Europe and Canada, including performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Following her retirement from professional singing she taught voice and piano for a time. She also worked as a legal assistant at her husband's law firm, and as a telephone operator before finally retiring. She had lived in Brooklyn and Somers, NY and Florida before returning to reside in this area in 2000. She was a communicant of St. John Paul II Parish in Adams and enjoyed golfing.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred C. Moran, whom she married on July 8, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY, as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Pasquale, Francis and Peter Cardillo, and by her sister, Angela Mullen.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16th at 11:00 AM in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. A calling hour will be held in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, on Wednesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 AM, directly before the Mass.
