Robert L. Randall, 89

ADAMS, Mass. — Robert Lee (Bob) Randall, 89, of Adams, passed away on April 6, 2025 at home with his loving family. He was born in Adams on November 8, 1935, son of the late Everett and Mary (Lagowski) Randall. He attended Adams schools and graduated from the former Adams High School in 1953.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth G. (Harvey) Randall, and his daughter, Carolee Randall Dalton and her husband Bruce, of Merrimack, NH, his daughter, Kathleen Randall Santeufemio and her husband Christopher, of Pepperell, MA, and his son, Mark Robert Randall of Memphis, TN. Bob has four grandchildren, Megan Dalton Zarick and her husband Kyle Zarick, Mitchell Robert Dalton, Isabella Santeufemio and her fiancé, Kyle Templeton, and Benjamin Robert Santeufemio. He has two grand-dogs, Brodie Robert Dalton and Nico Robert Santeufemio, who adored him as animals always did. Bob was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Toporowski and Frances Luczynski, and his brother Everett Randall, and survived by his brother, Douglas Randall. Bob was very fond of his sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob owned R.L. Randall Excavating & Grading for 50 plus years. Prior to that, he was employed at T.J. Harvey and Son. He was a corporator of Adams Community Bank and a Master Mason in Berkshire Lodge AF& AM., both for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard Company M for 8 years, and was affiliated with All Saints Episcopal Church, North Adams. He donated many years of his time and equipment in service for the Adams Agricultural Fair at Bowe Field.
Bob and Betty enjoyed Sunday drives, taking the back roads and going out to lunch. They built a home together where they lived for 30 years. Bob was an artist with his excavating, using his equipment masterfully as if they were simply extensions of his strong hands. He could invent, create and fix anything with his creative mind and was always thinking about something new or challenging to take on. It is said that a man who plants a tree believes in the future. His family has and will enjoy his Christmas trees for many years. His wife and his family were the joy of this life, and they knew him for his sense of humor, contagious laugh, craftsmanship, love for nature and animals, and affinity for homemade apple cider and blueberry wine.
His extraordinary appreciation for the love of his land in Adams and Savoy is passed down to his children and grandchildren, as they cherish the knowledge he shared. He taught them all his craft of dowsing, and many who have walked holding hands beside him could feel the strength and energy to find precious water. His green thumb shined through his gardens of blueberries and vegetables. Bob was a talented musician, playing country music on his accordion since he was a child. He enjoyed family 4th of July picnics, playing with his Bluegrass friends and setting off fireworks. He did not have a poker face when he off-loaded the Old Maid card on his nearby opponent, or when he had a dab of butter on his finger, coming to sneakily butter your nose on your birthday so you slide through another year. Bob’s family will forever hold him in their hearts.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 12th at 2:00 PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams.
