Lois Lorraine Lowe, 93

READSBORO, Vt. —  Lois Lorraine (Oakes) Lowe, 93 of Readsboro, VT died Sunday March 16, 2025 at Berkshire Medical Center.

She was born in North Adams, MA on May 16, 1931, a daughter of Henry Lewis Oakes and Alta Seraphine (Bouchard) Oakes. She graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1948.

Lois was last employed by Mount Snow Ski Resort in West Dover, VT where she worked until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Joachim’s Church and a member of its St. Anne’s Society. Lois was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Readsboro American Legion, the Readsboro Volunteer Fire Dept and the South Readsboro Community Club.

She was the widow of Harry Leroy Lowe who died in 1986. They were married on June 21, 1949. Survivors include three daughters including Wendy (Jack) Girardi of Readsboro, VT; Laure (Joy Gaier) Lowe of Santa Rosa, CA and Rene (Levin Hardison) Lowe of Readsboro, VT and two sons, Michael Lowe of Scranton, PA and Mark Lowe of Readsboro, VT. She also leaves her grandson, Jesse (Julissa) Girardi of North Adams, MA; one great granddaughter, Madeline Girardi; her brother, Gary Oakes of Las Vegas, NV ad nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Lowe; her granddaughter, Jenny Girardi; her great grandson, Damien Girardi and her brother, Richard Oakes.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Lois Lorraine Lowe will be Saturday March 29, 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Stamford Community Church. Burial will be in the spring in South Hill Cemetery in Readsboro, VT.
