John Bledsoe, 77

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — John Bledsoe died on August 28, 2024, at the age of 77, and was laid to rest in Southlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA.

The son of William A. Bledsoe and Lela Lehman Bledsoe, John grew up in San Carlos, California. After graduating from Cornell University, he taught at a private school in England. He then settled in Williamstown, where he worked for many years as a calligrapher and provided the community with many handsome invitations, diplomas, menus, and other fine lettering of all kinds. He was a dedicated carpenter, gardener, and musician.

He is survived by his sister, Robin Bledsoe, of Cambridge, MA, and by many cousins.
