Ronald R. Kruszyna

CHESHIRE, Mass. —

Ronald Richard Kruszyna, 85, of Cheshire, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at his home.

Born at Adams Memorial Hospital on July 14, 1939, the son of Joseph and Irene Lawson Kruszyna, he lived his entire life in the family homestead purchased by his parents.

Ron was educated in Adams schools and was a graduate of Adams Memorial High School.

With his father, Joseph, they owned and farmed Thunder Brook Farm in Cheshire, and later, Ron ran it with his wife Ginger.

He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and a lifetime member of the Cheshire Rod and Gun Club. He often enjoyed hunting with his family and many friends. Ron will be remembered as not only a hard worker, but a family man. From weekly family dinners, to John Deere tractor and four-wheeler rides around the homestead, to teaching his children and grandchildren the meaning of hard work on the farm whether that was bailing hay or stacking firewood.

Mr. Kruszyna leaves his wife, the former Virginia “Ginger” Racine, whom he married October 26, 1963.

He is also survived by three sons: Daniel (wife Betty) Kruszyna, Michael (wife Karen) Kruszyna,

and Jeffrey Kruszyna (partner Josette Pavlick), all of Cheshire; his grandchildren, Crystal, Katrina, Daniel, Amanda, Brittney, and Brandy, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a brother, Donald Kruszyna of Pittsfield.

He was pre-deceased by his sister, Claire Gurney and adopted sister Marie Lehr.

SERVICES: Funeral services for Ronald R. Kruszyna will be held Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025, with a Liturgy of Chistian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Church celebrated by Rev. Michael Lilpopp, Pastor at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Kruszyna may be made to Cheshire Fire Department in care of DERY-CHESHIRE HOME, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire.

We lost a good man in Uncle Ronnie. Such a hard worker who was dedicated to his family and farm. Fond memories of Christmases spent on West Mountain Road and the annual summer visits to stay at the farm. He will be missed.
