Mary Lou Moore, 78

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Mary Lou (Benoit) Moore, 78, formally of North Adams passed away peacefully in the loving care of Clapp's Nursing Home in Pleasant Garden, NC on September 21, 2024.

Mary Lou was born on January 27, 1946, in North Adams where she was raised as the daughter of the late George and Laura (Vincelette) Benoit. She graduated from Drury High School in 1965 and moved early in life to various communities in California and North Carolina. She married Philip Adkins, and they had two children, Laura Adkins Boss of Tennessee and Nathan Adkins of North Carolina. She remarried and leaves her surviving husband Ralph Moore, and their son Zachery Moore and wife Kimberly of North Carolina. She also left many nieces and nephews.

In addition, she leaves her brother, Edmond Benoit of Holden, Massachusetts, and her two sisters, Rosalie Tworig of Noth Adams, Massachusetts, and Judith Winch of Nuevo, California. They were fortunate to stay in frequent contact with her via Facetime calls during her recent years in the nursing home.

Mary Lou loved working in her garden and enjoyed spending time with her dogs. She also helped run the successful family trucking business for many years.

We would also like to thank Clapp's Nursing Center for their professional and compassionate care given Mary Lou during this last journey of her life.

Private funeral services were held in Pleasant Garden, North Carolina.
