I say amen to everything my classmate Lisa Bassi said about Larry. To that I would add he was the co-captain of the first cross-country team at Drury High School to post a winning record and I am quite sure he scored the highest of any of my classmates on his SAT verbal. That was no accident: he read widely and deeply at a very early age. We were teammates on the track and cross-country team and I probably spent as much time with his as any of my friends and it was always time well spent. R.I.P. my friend the world could use your kindness now.

Deep condolences to Mark and the whole Potvin family. I learned of Larry's passing earlier this week from a dear friend and just saw the obituary. Larry was a good, good guy throughout his young life in Clarksburg and then Stamford when he and his family lived "behind the lions." I learned of his support of Haiti Plunge when my daughter made two working trips with them. "Sail on" to a good soul.
