David R. 'Tiger' Marceau, 79

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  David Russell Marceau, known as "Tiger" but loved by most as Uncle Dave, 79, of North Adams, MA, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in North Adams, MA on October 21, 1944, a son of the late Russell William Marceau and Lucille Nary (Marsh) Marceau Kulp. David graduated from McCann Technical School in North Adams. David worked at Sprague Electric Co for over 25 years until his retirement.

As an avid fisherman, Uncle Dave found solace on the water. His favorite places were on the shoreline of Windsor Lake, and on the pontoon boat on Lake Champlain with his nephew, Jamie and his family, where they created unforgettable memories. Fishing was more than just a hobby for him; it was a passion that brought him joy and a sense of peace. Uncle Dave was a dedicated uncle and great-uncle, known for his unwavering love for his family. He cherished every moment spent with his family, often sharing stories and laughter around the dinner table. His family was the center of his universe, and he took immense pride in their achievements and happiness.

David is lovingly survived by his devoted nephew, Alan Marceau, Jr (Jamie to Uncle Dave), and his wife, Lisa. He cherished his great nieces and great nephews — Lauren (Josh) Bellows, Cat (John) Tietgens, Madi (Joe), Erin (Chad), Alan III, Lily, Hunter, and Hali (Kody) Cartmill — each of whom brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his great-great nieces and nephews: Tyler (Sadie), Megan, Lily, Liam, James, Bear, Gideon, Amy Jane, Violet, June, and Jamie, along with his namesake, Theo David, who will carry forward his legacy.

David is remembered fondly by his niece, Michelle Dufur, and her husband, Bob, as well as his great niece and nephew, Amanda (Ryan) Mammone and Adam Dufur (Jamie), and their children, RJ and Kane. Each of these relationships held a special place in his heart, and he will be deeply missed by all.

David is survived by his younger brother, Robert Marceau of Pownal, Vt., and his sister-in-law Carla, as well as their children Mark (Shay) and Eric (Kristen). He also leaves behind his great-nieces and nephews: Dylan, Jeffrey, and Zara Marceau, along with her children Ezekieal and Thomas. Additionally, David is survived by younger brother Stephen Marceau of North Adams, MA, sister-in-law Sharon, and their children Will and Alyssa. His brother-in-law Tommy Lentine, niece Jill Brooks, her husband Mark, and their children Ashley (Scott) Seaton and Ryan (Jessica) along with their children Brooks, Ada, Wren, and Lainey. Finally, he is survived by his aunt Barbara Sprague, and many other extended family members. David is survived by a son, Marc Lescarbeau.

He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Lentine, who died on Sept.  4, 2020, and his brother, Alan J. Marceau Sr., who died on Sept. 7, 2001.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for David Marceau will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. A calling hour will be held Saturday morning (11/2) from 9-10. Memorial donations may be made to the AYJ Fund in care of the funeral home.
