Florence Benson,97

 

 

Florence Theresa (Moreau) Benson, 97 of Williamstown died on Sunday August 25, 2024 at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in North Adams on July 9, 1927 a daughter of the late Albert & Bertha (Dupuis) Moreau.

Florence attended the former Notre Dame Parochial School and completed IT Commercial Course. She was employed at Sprague Electric Company for many years, she moved to Florida and worked at several businesses as a cashier and moved back to the area in 2002. Florence was a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and later at St. Elizabeth Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Florence was predeceased by her husband, Bert Edward Benson who died on October 16, 2002. They were married on November 27, 1947. She leaves her daughter, Patricia Goodell of Williamstown, son, Arnold E. (Benson) Robyn of Arizona, and grandchildren, Jeffrey W. Goodell, Tammy L. Goodell, Rhianna Benson, Leah Whiteley Adam Benson as well great grandchildren, Ashley Angel, Greyson, Charlotte, Callen and Wes and great – great grandchildren, Damien and Wyatt. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Racette who died on November 24, 2022.

 

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service to celebrate the life of Florence Benson will be on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Cheshire Cemetery. My condolences the Benson Family. I'm sad to see that Flo has passed. She and Bert were good friends of my in laws. She was always friendly and kind. I'm sure it was a lovely reunion for her and Bert! May your cherished memories help comfort you in the days ahead. Rest in peace Flo.
