Doris T. Guillou, 97

PITTSFIELD, Mass. —  

Mrs. Doris T. (Ramsdell) Guillou, 97, of Chesapeake, VA, formerly of Pittsfield and Adams, died on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at her home.

She was born in Adams on February 22, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Goodfellow) Ramsdell. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School.

Mrs. Guillou worked as an executive assistant for General Electric Co., Pittsfield for 40 years until retiring. She then worked as an executive assistant for Century 21 in Pittsfield.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Pittsfield and had been a longtime communicant of the former St. Theresa’s Church. Pittsfield.

Her husband, Anthony F. Guillou, whom she married on November 25, 1950, died on February 23, 2019.

She is survived by her son Doran Guillou and his wife Karin of Chesapeake, VA; her brother Richard Ramsdell of North Adams; two sisters, Rosemary Ziarnik and Ann Klammer and her husband Donald, all of Adams; three grandchildren, Crystal Latura and Matthew and Bryce Guillou; numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter Moira Guillou; by two brothers, Earl and William Ramsdell and by a sister Lucille Candiloro.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 31st at 10:00 A.M. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Maple St., Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, are Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
