Adela Jzyk, 74

ADAMS, Mass. —

Mrs. Adela (Bongalosa) Jzyk, 74, of Adams, died Monday, August 12, 2024 at Berkshire Medical Center.

She was born in Bulan, Sorsogon, Philippines on December 22, 1949, daughter of the late Cecilio and Fortunata (Guieb) Bongalosa and attended schools in the Philippines. She came to the United States in 1974.

Adela last worked at the former General Cable Corp. until retiring in 2007. Earlier, she had worked at the former Waverly Fabrics in Adams and Hunter Outdoor Products in North Adams.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Richard W. Jzyk, whom she married on May 1, 1973 in the Philippines; her son Chad Jzyk and his wife Marcia of North Adams; granddaughters Keira and Lauren Jzyk of North Adams; sister-and brother-in-law Barbara and John Lawson, of Adams; and niece Haley Phelps and her family of Attleboro, MA.

Adela’s family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the North County Dialysis Unit and at Berkshire Medical Center for the care and kindness they showed to her during her illness.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 19th at 10:00 AM in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Relatives and friends are invited. There are no calling hours.
