Keath J. Fortier, 65
ADAMS, Mass.— Keath J. Fortier of Ghent, NY passed away on Aug. 9 after a short battle with cancer.
Keath was born in Adams on Aug. 7, 1959, a son of the late John and Norma Fortier.
Keath loved all animals, especially horses, which he rode and drove for most of his life. Keath and his wife enjoyed going to Acadia National Park in Maine with their horse and carriage, driving on the beautiful carriage trails. Keath also loved music. He played the bagpipes and fiddle for many years.
Keath enjoyed spending time with his family and had a special bond with his grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn (Mitchison) who he met 40 years ago on a horse farm where they worked. They were
married for 38 years. He is also survived by his daughter Alyssa, her wife Sheryl and their son Teague, three brothers Craig (Maria), Jay (Patty), Wayne (Beth), his sister-in-law Jean and many nieces and nephews, also the Mitchison family who were very special to him. He is predeceased by his brother Mark, who recently passed.
Keath did not wish to have a funeral so we are going to have a celebration of his life at Schodack Island State Park on Oct, 12 at 11:00.
