M. Sidney Taft, 88

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Madeline Sidney (Morin) Taft, age 88, died on November 8th, 2023, in Port Orange, Florida. Madeline is survived by her husband Edward Charles Taft Sr., of Port Orange, Florida; her son Edward Charles Taft Jr, of Port Orange, Florida; her daughter Sharon Anne Taft, of Bedford Massachusetts along with her wife Gina Taft; her cherished grandchildren William Taft, Lilia Taft and Madeline Taft all of Bedford Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Virginia Morin; sister Barbara (Morin) Malinowski and brother Louis Morin all of North Adams, Massachusetts.

Sidney was born on December 23rd 1934, in North Adams, Massachusetts, to parents Edward Morin and Virginia (Loholdt) Morin. She attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1952. She worked for Sprague Electric Company and then the Hoosac Water Quality District in Williamstown for over 25 years until she retired. Ed and Sid moved to Port Orange to enjoy their retirement and made many new friends through the years in Port Orange.

Sidney was passionate about bowling and golfing. She was involved in many bowling and golf leagues. She was President of North Adams Country Club for a short time. Sidney enjoyed many years of going to Saratoga Racetrack with family and friends. She loved to entertain family and friends and having people surround her. She always had an open home for anyone in need.

A graveside services for Sidney Taft will be held on Monday August 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Southview cemetery. Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home will be entrusted with the arrangements of those services. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.

Dear Taft family, my sincere condolences on Sid's passing. I knew Sid through the North Adams Country Club where she was a good friend of my mother and father in law, Pat and Nel Roy. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor.
