Lynne C. Robbins, 77

PLAINFIELD, Mass. —  

With deep sadness, we share the news of Lynne Robbins' passing on August 1, 2024. Lynne, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and dear friend, left this world peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on April 10, 1947, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Lynne's brilliance and quick wit were evident from a young age. She pursued her education with passion, graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s degree in Library Science. Her love for reading and teaching took her across the globe, from Jamaica to Andover, MA, and led her to roles such as Director of Libraries in Toronto and ultimately retiring as the Library Director at Deerfield Academy.

Outside of her professional life, Lynne found joy in reading multiple books each week, nurturing her gardens, cooking, and spending time on the water.

Lynne’s presence will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Lewis Robbins, her twin sons, Christopher and Michael Robbins, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

A celebration of Lynne’s life will be held at a later date.
