Maryanne Santelli, 64
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Maryanne E. Santelli, 64, of North Adams passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, July 29, 2024.
She was born at North Adams Regional Hospital in 1959 to Arthur G. Santelli and Helen Santelli, nee DeMers. She attended Mark Hopkins Elementary School and Drury High School before studying Theatre Arts at Berkshire Community College, and Anthropology, Sociology and Social Work at North Adams State College. She wore many hats in her dual careers as a social worker and a drama teacher, working at Childcare of The Berkshires; YWCA Dallas and the City of Dallas, Texas; North Adams Public Schools; and many others. Of these, she was most passionate as a theatre teacher and director, sparking a love for drama for hundreds of young adults in North Adams.
Her one true love in life, embodied through her devout Catholic faith, has always been Jesus Christ. Her deepest desire in life was to seek the truth in her Lord, and that all the people she loves may discover that same truth. Her journey of faith started at St. Francis of Assisi in North Adams, and has journeyed throughout Northern Berkshire County, Vermont and New Hampshire, ending at St. Mary's in Cheshire.
Maryanne is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Arthur Jr.; her brother-in-law Denis; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her siblings, Mark C. and his wife, Louise, Tammy Santelli Lefebvre and Joseph G. Santelli; her children, Matthew Tucker and his wife, Cassandra, Richard Santelli and fiancee, Elizabeth, Tay Barrett nee Santelli and her husband, Anthony, Deidre Whitfield and her fiance, Adrien Grant, and Francesca Santelli; and her grandchildren, Braelyn, Caleb, Lennox, and Eliana Tucker; Claire and Cole Barrett; Tobias and Ashyr; and Zay Whitfield; cousin Tony Nuvaille; and countless other family and friends.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams, with the Liturgy of Christian Burial immediately to follow. In lieu of flowers, Maryanne desired that donations be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 159 Church St., Cheshire, MA 01225.
