Charles E. Holub, 93
BENNINGTON, Vt. —
Mr. Charles E. Holub, 93, of Bennington, formerly of North Adams, died on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.
He was born in Manhattan, New York on May 14, 1931, a son of the late Charles and Maria (Janoto) Holub. He attended schools in New York.
Mr. Holub was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served with the United States Airforce from 1951 until receiving his honorable discharge in 1955. Mr. Holub retired as the head of security for the IRS, having worked in the Manhattan, NY and MA offices.
His wife, the former Thelma Donnelly, whom he married on August 25, 1973, died on August 5, 2014.
He is survived by his stepson, John Wilson of Pownal, VT; his sister Caroll Holub of Bronx, NY; four grandchildren Susan Knapp, Aleta Moncecchi, James Montgomery and Brian Cain; and by six great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his two stepdaughters, Sandra Montgomery and Carol Cain and two grandchildren, Evelyn Shepard and Joseph Cain.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 6th at 10:00 A.M. in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Family and friends are invited to attend.
