Jane C. Battersby, 87
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Jane Clara (Dunn) Battersby, 87 of North Adams died Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center.
Jane was born in North Adams on November 27, 1936, a daughter of Frank P and Susan (Brown) Dunn. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1955. She was employed at the Boston Store, First Agricultural Bank. and was a devoted and Loyal Employee for the City of North Adams for over 34 years as a Clerk in the Treasurer’s office assisting the residents of North Adams.
Jane was an active member of the Community serving as the Treasurer of the North Adams Little League for decades. She also served as the Treasurer for the North Adams Credit Union and a member of the Historical Society. Jane was also active at the start and vision of Mass MOCA and sympathetic and supportive of the Crazy Horse Memorial and Native American Schools throughout the country.
Jane was a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother. She loved to garden and bird watch, especially cardinals, and she loved walking on the beach. Spaghetti suppers were something Jane enjoyed being part of whether it was for Little League or for the Barrett campaigns, of which there were many.
Jane was a direct descendant of Susan B. Anthony and studied and recorded family genealogy.
Survivors include her daughter Diane Carpinello (John) of North Adams and grandchildren, Jessica Carpinello of North Adams and Michael Carpinello of Saugus, MA, Dana (Matt) Levy, Jayson (Sara) Levy, Darren Levy all of Fort Myers. She leaves a daughter in law, Donna Battersby of Fort Myers, Florida. She also leaves her brothers, Mark Dunn and Edwin Dunn (Elaine) both of Sun City, Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, William Battersby in 1996 and Thomas Battersby in 2023. A brother Frank H Dunn also predeceased her in 1970.

Also to Mt. Greylock Extended Care where she spent the last two months for their compassionate care.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Jane Battersby will be on Tuesday, May 28th at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home from 2PM - 4PM – WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA.
