Dolores Kanelos, 90
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dolores Mary (Oslizlo) Kanelos, 90, of North Adams, died peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Adams, MA on May 12, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph & Lena (Fulde) Oslizlo.
Dolores attended schools in Adams, MA. She was employed for many years in the operations of Lickety Split in Williamstown and Lickety Split at MASS MoCA, the museum’s cafe that she lovingly helped build with her family.
Dolores was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. She was the widow of Louis Kanelos who died on April 19, 1991. They were married on June 17, 1953.
Dolores leaves her two daughters, Robin Kanelos (Gary Jelley) of North Pownal, VT and Cathy (Tom) Ralys of North Adams, and son, Nicholas (Tracey) Kanelos of Rome, GA. She also leaves her grandchildren, Christina Galvin, Amanda Kanelos, Danielle Ralys, Nicollette Serrano, Jared Ralys, Justin Kanelos, Griffin Kanelos and Raven Wells; several great grandchildren including Leo Louis Serrano with whom she formed a special bond in his first years of life; a brother, Joseph (Annette) Oslizlo of Litchfield, NH and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David Kanelos, in 2015 and her sister Audrey Burdick.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Family is invited to gather at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home-CENTRAL CHAPEL 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA at 9:30 AM on Thursday, April 25, 2024 and will travel together in procession to the graveside service. All friends and loved ones are lovingly invited to meet the family at Southview Cemetery at 11:00 AM for the graveside memorial and burial. In lieu of flowers, Dolores’ family invites all who are able to make a donation in her name to Massachusetts General Hospital, MGH Fund, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114, where a dedicated team of doctors and nurses provided exceptional treatment and care that extended Dolores’ years with her family.
