Bruce Navom, 71

STAMFORD, Vt. — Dr. Bruce Navom of Stamford passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Born on September 15, 1952 in Hudson, NY to Michael and Shirley Navom. Bruce grew up in Chatham, NY and attended schools there. He later went to Northwestern College of Chiropractic and later became one of the most loved and well-known chiropractors in Berkshire County.

Dr. Navom was most known for his witty sense of humor, which was a big part of why so many people loved him. He always had funny stories to share with others and although he would often poke fun at the people he loved most, he was also very generous and caring. He was a master at the art of bringing a smile to anyone's face. Bruce was a very active individual, in addition to dedicating much of his life to providing the best quality chiropractic care to his countless patients; He contributed to the community for many years as an active member of the Williamstown Lions Club, even acting as the president for a period of time. He was well-known by many motorcycle enthusiasts around the area, as well as avid golfers of Stamford Valley Golf Course in Stamford, VT.

Besides taking his family skiing, golfing and motorcycle riding, Bruce loved not only his family, but his yellow Ford Mustang. That thing was his baby and he took great pride in it. As soon as the ice melted, you would often see him cruising around in it, happy as can be. He also greatly enjoyed working in his garden, riding his tractor (“putzing around” as he would say), and going to his campsite at Cossayuna Lake, NY to relax on the beach, or go up to Maine to visit his daughter and her family.

Bruce was happily married to his wife of almost 39 years, Sandra Navom. Besides his wife, he leaves behind two sons and a daughter, Bryce and wife D.J. of West Virginia, Brandon of North Adams, Julie and husband Nate Pichette of Maine. His sister, Carol and husband Peter Bashford of Florida, and his brother Brian Navom of New York. Additionally he leaves behind three step-sons he considered his own: Robert and wife Kelly Mazzrillo of Virginia, Paul Mazzrillo of North Adams, and Aaron and wife Kaori Mazzrillo of California. He also leaves three grandsons, three granddaughters and a great-grand daughter, all of whom he loved very much and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he had the opportunity.

It's okay to be sad. We all lost a great man. But everyone who had the honor of knowing Bruce Navom is now better for having done it and knows that he would not want you to dwell on it. Think of the time he made you laugh so hard you had to pee. That's the way he wants you to remember him.

Recollections & Sympathy For the Family

Dear Sandy, Julie, and family

We want to express our sorrow for all of you losing Bruce
You were all very comforting and supporting for many years. I had the good fortune to golf with Bruce on the Stamford golf course many times. He was always positive and loved the sport as much as I did.
Bruce was a good honest man who cared deeply for his family. It is hard to believe Father Time is catching up with all of us. Bruce lived life the way he wanted and from the many comments a life well lived. Know that all of you are in our prayers and will never forget what you both did during a most difficult situation. We will always have kind words when we think of the Navom family who stood up unsolicited, for a family they knew was wrongly being persecuted .

With our most ardent goodwill to the Navom family

Bryce, Brandon and family I'm so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I fondly remember the good times we had when he helped out with troop campout. As has been said he would always put a smile on your face. I'm sure he is smiling down on us now.

To Bryce, Brandon and Family,
My sincere condolences for your loss.
Your Dad was a great man. I had many conversations with him and he always was proud of his boys. Bruce had quite a sense of humor. Always had a smile on his face especially when he was riding his motorcycle. May his soul rest in peace.

I am so sorry to see this. My Dad David Harvey was a friend and patient of Dr. Navoms for many years. And recently I became a patient of Dr. Brinks here in Maine who treats his daughter. He was exceptionally a favorite of my Dads along with a friend. He was so sorry his condition had put him at this place in life. They kindered a good friendship over the horse hay my Dad provided him and the comfort he provided Dad. God Bless his family and please know he will be missed by many.

Julie, Sandra and Family, Every word that is said about Bruce is right on the money. Bruce was not only my Chiropractor, but a great friend to Roy and I. Your dad helped me keep a positive attitude toward Roy sick with dementia. Do you know that your dad adjusted my cat at his office on Church Street? That's Bruce. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about Bruce passing. While I casually knew Bruce as a fellow chiropractor for the past 30+ years, I really got to know him better his last few years in practice when he shared space in my office. He was as you described: personable, charming, fun, funny, and caring. He practiced chiropractic for about 40 years and helped thousands of people. I can attest to the fact that his patients loved and respected him. A life well lived. I am honored to have known him.
