Richard W. Bieniek, 78
LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — Mr. Richard W. Bieniek, 78, of Lanesboro, died Friday morning, March 22, 2024 at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. He was born in Adams on July 28, 1945, a son of the late S. Walter and Jeanette (Roberts) Bieniek. He attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams Memorial High School with the Class of 1963. Following his graduation, Richard entered the US Army, serving from 1963 until his Honorable Discharge in 1966. He operated Richard Bieniek Associates, a supplier of electronic parts and equipment, from 1986 until retiring in 2005. Earlier, he had worked at the former Sammy Vincent’s Music Store in Pittsfield and had also assisted his father part-time in the operation of the former Bieniek Electronics in Adams. He was a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, and later, of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, and woodworking. His first wife, the former Catherine J. Voghel, died in 1973. He is survived by his wife, the former Chrstine A. McDonald, whom he married on October 25, 1974; his son Damon Bieniek and his wife, Melissa, of Clifton Park, NY; his daughters Kimberly Gorman of Southwick, MA and Jennifer Belanger and her husband, Dr. Timothy Belanger, of Pittsfield; his grandchildren Lauren Bieniek, Allison Bieniek, Paige Belanger, Alexander Belanger, Courtney Choi and Joseph Gorman; his great grandchildren Harlow, Xyler and Boston Choi; brothers David Bieniek and his wife, Beverly of Pittsfield and Aaron Bieniek and his wife, Toni of Adams; sisters Marilyn Moran of Adams and Robin Anish of Rochester, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, John Gorman, and by his brothers-in-law Fred Moran, Daniel McDonald and Paul Anish. Richard’s family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility for their kindness and care during his stay there. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 27th at 9:45 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations any be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
