Robert C. Eastwood, 81

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Mr. Robert C. Eastwood, 81, of North Adams, died Tuesday evening, February 13, 2024 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was born in Adams on January 2, 1943, son of the late Charles M. and Verna L. (Haggstrom) Eastwood. He attended Adams schools and graduated from C.H. McCann Technical High School in North Adams. He served with Co. M, 104th Infantry of the Massachusetts Army National Guard in Adams from 1965 until 1970. Bob last worked in the Buildings and Grounds Department at Williams College until retiring in 2001 after 25 years of service. He had been a member of the First Congregational Church, Adams. He was also a member of Adams Post 160 American Legion, Adams Outdoorsmen for Youth, the Greylock Community Club in North Adams, and the Night Cruzers car club. Bob was an avid fisherman, and also enjoyed ice fishing, cookouts and sitting around his backyard campfire with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Paula J. LaBonte, whom he married on August 26, 1977; his daughter Shonna Poette and her husband, Edward, of North Adams; a stepson, James DiGennaro, Jr. and his wife Barbra of Adams; two sisters, Ruth Zappula and her husband David, and Pamela Eastwood, both of North Adams; five grandchildren, including Serena Eastwood, Juliet Poette, Derek Dabrowski, Angela DiGennaro and Dylan DiGennaro; three great grandchildren, including Deluca Poette, Kalel Poette and Mason DiGennaro. Calling hours for Bob will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22nd from 4 to 6 PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Relatives and friends are invited. Services and burial will be held at a date to be announced in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pop Cares, PO Box 482 Williamstown, MA 01267.
