Allen G. Malloy, 58

ADAMS, Mass. —

Mr. Allen G. Malloy, 58, of Granby, MO, a native of Adams, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO.

He was born in North Adams on January 14, 1965, a son of George Malloy of Adams and the late Stella M. (Randall) Malloy. He attended Adams schools and graduated from Hoosac Valley High School with the Class of 1983. He was a member of the marching and concert bands playing sousaphone, tuba and trombone, and was a member of the National Honor Society. He later earned an associate degree from San Bernardino Valley (CA) College in 1996.

In 1984, Allen enlisted in the US Air Force as a fuel specialist and spent time in the Middle East on classified operations until his honorable discharge as a sergeant in 1990.

Allen had a career in the petroleum industry and had worked for Merit Oil in California in Operations/Dispatch; R.E. Goodspeed & Sons Distributing in Hesperia, CA as a Lubrication Engineer, and for Chevron Corp. as an executive sales representative. He had lived in several cities in California and in Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Missouri.

Allen enjoyed cooking, competing in culinary venues, traveling, volunteering with a local high school band in California, and loved music, especially the band Chicago and Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” and Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years.” He was a member of the former Royal Blue Angels Drum & Bugle Corp in Adams, MA and Noble Callahan Drum & Bugle Corp from the Albany, NY. area. Al also loved to attend and participate in Pirate themed events and had owned and operated a pirate-themed shop in California.

Besides his father, of Adams, he is survived by his husband, Rogue Lee Malloy of Granby, Missouri; his children, Jeffrey Malloy of Fullerton, CA and Catherine (Malloy) Castrellon of Silverdale, WA; one granddaughter, Leia, of WA; his sisters Susan Malloy (Jamie Murphy) of Pittsfield and Donna Malloy of Adams; his brother Gary Malloy (Sheri Siam) of Adams; mother-in-law Marie Gray, sister-in-law Heather Gray, brother-in-law Stephen Allen Gray, stepsisters Carla Trumble-Davis of Savoy, MA and Michele Trumble- Jandran of Florence, South Carolina as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Stella (Randall) Malloy, his brother Jeffrey Malloy, his former partner Randy McLaughlin, stepmother Virginia “Ginger” Malloy and stepbrother Michael Trumble.

A memorial service for Allen will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 1:00 PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. A calling hour will be held from 12 Noon until the 1:00 PM, prior to the service. Burial will be held in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
