Margaret "Peggy" Boudreau, 80

 

Mrs. Margaret “Peggy” (Higgins) Boudreau, 80, of Heath, died Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born in Boston on October 30, 1942, a daughter of the late Joseph F. Higgins and Margaret M. (Wilson) Higgins Cuozzo. She attended schools in Peabody and Stoughton, and had lived in Greenfield, Northfield and Williamstown, until settling in Heath 30 years ago.

Peggy had worked as a waitress at the Foxtown Diner in Shelburne Falls and Howard Johnson’s in Williamstown and had also worked briefly at Sweeney Ford in Greenfield.

She was a former communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Shelburne Falls, and of St. Patrick’s Church in Northfield, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and refinishing furniture.

Her husband, Edward L. Boudreau, whom she married on February 11, 1962, died on March 21, 2018.

She is survived by her four children, Terese Welch and her husband Joe of Brandywine, MD; Ed Boudreau and his wife Toni of Eagle River, AK; Don Boudreau and his wife Laurie of Clarksburg and Renee Boudreau and her partner Sarah Green of Shelburne Falls; five grandchildren, Mehgan Degere, Raymond Degere, Brian Boudreau, Holly Boudreau and Michael Boudreau; one great granddaughter, Lillyanna Quones; two brothers, Robert Higgins of Aurora, CO and Michael Cuozzo of Indian Orchard; two sisters, Carol Toupence of Enfield, CT and Linda Amrhein of Plymouth, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Denise Boudreau and Danielle Boudreau; a son, Daniel Boudreau, and by two brothers, Rev. Donald J. Higgins and Joseph G. Higgins.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 26 th at 11:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 25 Hoosac St. Adams. Calling hours in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, are Sunday from 4 to 6 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heath Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 45, Heath, MA 01346.
