Thomas Storey, 64

It is with great sorrow that the family of Thomas J Storey age 64 of Boynton Beach Florida announce his passing on June 14, 2023. Tom (TJ) succumbed to injuries after a devastating fall at home.

Tom was born on July 3, 1958, to the late Thomas V Storey and Helen Stohlmann Storey.

Tom was an avid golfer and shared his passion with his son Joey. Tom watched with great pride as Joey participated in many tournaments. Tom's support of Joey's golf journey was unwavering. Whether it was being the caddie, driver or an ear to listen, Tom was always there for Joey.

Tom and Joey's relationship was not just golf but all sports. Endless conversations and occasional debates about who had the right team or player was a daily occurrence.

Tom and Martha met when they were teamed together in a golf tournament in 1999. They quickly found that as total strangers their lives were filled with many coincidences. Both were born in Massachusetts, had family (Stohlmann Farm) from Adams, their love for golf and sports.

Tom would often say there were no coincidences, just 'things in common.' Tom and Martha married on September 20, 2008 at the beach with their son, Joey by their side.

Family was everything to Tom. He was a proud big brother, uncle and cousin.

Tom is survived by his wife, Martha (Waltermire) and son, Joseph. Joey's girlfriend, Isabella Weinstein who he considered his daughter. He is also survived by his two brothers, James Storey and John Storey; sister Patricia (Gary) Caruso. His father and mother in law Robert and Nancy Waltermire. Sister in law Myra (Bud Green) Wilk, brothers in law Jim (Lisa) Waltermire, David (Lynn) Waltermire and Karl Waltermire. Nephews Nicholas (Caitlyn) Caruso, Lucas Caruso, Austin Caruso, John David (Ann Scott) Wilk, Nicholas (Sarah) Waltermire, Matthew Waltermire, and Charlie Waltermire. Nieces Madilyn Storey, Jessica Caruso, Kate (Corey) Gillis, Celia (Brad) Botto, and Jenna Waltermire. Great nephews Jackson Caruso and Connor Gillis. Great niece Ayden Waltermire. His aunt and special #1, Sylvia (Stohlmann) Gardner.

Tom also leaves behind his dog, Winston Rowley Storey. Tom and Winston were always together. Tom could be seen daily with Winston riding in a wicker basket on the front of Martha's pink bicycle.

Tom was predeceased by his father Thomas-August 5, 1987 and his mother Helen- May 21, 2023.

Private Services for Tom will be held in Nantucket Massachusetts. At the request of Martha and Joey Donations in Tom's memory can be made to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation https://curethekids.org/ 6065 Roswell Road NE, Suite 505 Atlanta, GA 30328

To TJ’s family, Please accept my deepest condolences on TJ’s passing. We spent many hours playing monopoly at my house when we were kids. TJ and his family would be visiting their grandmother on East Hoosac Street in Adams during the summer. We lived just below the Stohlman farm. My brothers and I so looked forward to every summer and the arrival of TJ, Patty and the boys (who were much younger, or so it seemed). That monopoly board remained at the ready all summer just waiting for TJ and his family to visit.
Soar with the angels old friend! Thank you for the memories!
