Benjamin L. Rowe, 87

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Benjamin Locke Rowe, 87 of Seminole, FL and formerly of North Adams, MA died on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at Regal Care in Greenfield, MA.

He was born in Crystal, ME on March 3, 1936, a son of William Rowe and Althea (Main) Rowe Brewer. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Herbert Brewer. He graduated from Drury High School in 1954.

Ben entered the US Navy in August of 1954 and served for four years until his honorable discharge. He worked for General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 28 years until his retirement in 1993. In 1996, he moved permanently to Clearwater, FL. He returned to this area in November of 2022. Ben was a member of the Elks, the Eagles, the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and cooking.

His first wife was Joanne (Norton) Rowe who died on September 19, 1996. They were married on December 20, 1954. His second wife was Edwidge Frances (Allen) Rowe who died on June 9, 2009. They were married on July 3, 1998. Survivors include two daughters- Kelly (David) Blanchette of Sunderland, MA and Kimberly Rowe (Lynn Schroder) of Holyoke, MA and one son Christopher Locke (Valerie) Rowe of Clarksburg, MA. He also leaves six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; one sister- Marion Fennessey of North Ft. Myers, FL and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Kurt Rowe and his brother James O. Rowe.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Private graveside service for Benjamin Rowe will be held in Southview cemetery.
