Mark J. Mendonca, 45

CHESHIRE, Mass. —  Mark Joseph Mendonca, 45, of Providence, Rhode Island, formerly of Cheshire, died on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

He was born in North Adams on January 9, 1978, a son of Maria (Burzimati) Mendonca and the late Joseph E. Mendonca, Jr. He grew up in Cheshire and attended schools there, graduating from Hoosac Valley High School with the class of 1996.

In his younger years he was actively involved in 4H and later raised and trained dogs and rabbits.

Besides his mother of Cheshire, he is survived by three brothers, Joseph E. Mendonca, III and his wife Carol of Groton, CT, William Mendonca and his wife Florence of Pittsfield and Jason Mendonca and his wife Katie of Cheshire. He is also survived by four nieces, two nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be private for the family. There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus School, 108 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220 or to the Hoosac Hose Company, P.O. Box 647, Cheshire, MA 01225.
